Q: Missing artwork on certain albums on iOS devices.

While using iTunes Match, items in my music library that I used iTunes to download artwork for, are not showing any artwork on my iOS devices. However, songs that I added my own artwork or purchased from the iTunes store show up.

Does anyone have a solution? This is driving me crazy!

    Hi Sorro85,

If you are having issues with missing artwork for iTunes Match, follow the steps in the resource below:

Resolve issues with iTunes Match - Apple Support
    https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204406

If songs or albums are missing artwork

If some songs or albums downloaded to an iOS device from your iCloud library are missing album artwork, follow the steps below:

    1. Open iTunes. Make sure you have the latest version.
    2. Right-click or Control-click on the album missing the artwork and choose Get Album Artwork from the pop-up menu.
    3. Once iTunes has completed processing the album artwork, update iTunes Match. From the menu bar at the top of your computer screen, choose Store > Update iTunes Match.
    4. After iTunes Match has finished updating, launch the Music app on your iOS device.
    5. Locate the songs that are missing artwork, and delete them from your device.
    6. After you've deleted the song, download the item again from your iCloud library by tapping on the download   icon to the right of the song.

    Regards,

    - Judy

I Have tried this approach many times before. This WOULD seem like a logical answer...but does not work in this case. As I said, items that I provided my own artwork for and items that I purchased in the store do show up with artwork on my iOS devices. It's just the items that I downloaded artwork for from iTunes that do not show up.

I have similar (but worse?) problems. There is missing artwork for many of my albums in iMatch. I have a collection of >15K: everything I've bought all my life, mostly loaded from CDs, then most recently bought from iTunes. On my MBP these albums show up with the "2 notes icon" (i.e. no cover image). On my iPhone5, things show up with diagonal text showing artist and album name, the iOS default when there is no cover image. I tried this "fix" ("workaround"?) but my MBP and iPhone5 still show no cover artwork (for Patsy Cline "12 Greatest Hits", for example).

In addition, I have noticed content glitch(es), and I wonder if others have also? Specifically, in Patsy Cline's album "12 Greatest Hits", at 0:36 of "She's Got You" there is a loud click/scratch sound. I matched this from my own CD on an older MBP. When I play that original, there is no click/scratch. On every device (including newer MBP) when I stream from iTunes store, the click/scratch is there. Seems to me that the Apple iTunes store "master" has been corrupted?!? That is worrisome. Does that mean I have to go through all 15K+ songs to make sure they have not been corrupted? I notified Apple of this problem several weeks ago, but the problem persists. Is all of our music at risk of being corrupted?!?
