Q: OS X Lion - "This item is temporarily unavailable" on reinstall

Jun 9, 2015 5:32 PMby Niel,That you're using an Apple ID which didn't previously download Lion. Depending on the computer's model and firmware version, you need to either use its original disks, or a retail Mac OS X install DVD, or restart it with the Option, Command, and R keys held down.

If its original OS is listed as 10.6.2 or earlier, yes. If not, that DVD won't boot the computer.
