Q: Preview app wont' open, denied permission

I updated to the newest "security"  "update" the other day, Security Update 2015-004 Version 1,0 on June 6th, and of course something had to go wrong.

This update had to do with "A process may gain admin privileges without properly authenticating"
Lovely upgrade, guys.

Now I cannot open any jpg or image files because I get a message that says I don't have permission to open them.
"The file “bdqIpL.qr-1.png” couldn’t be opened because you don’t have permission to view it."

Interestingly, on the info bar it shows I DO have permission to read and write.

What gives? I need to get work done. This is getting really tiresome.
