Q: Windows 8 home page is frozen and no controls to fix?

Hi Loner T I just tried resetting via unplugging the power cord and following the instructions but no luck.  The command keys aren't working and even changed the mouse to get curse up but no nothing.  Just shows the home screen back ground with the time but with out the software icons loaded.  Then falls into sleep mode after a period of time std settings.
