Q: Email

Since recently downloading Yosemite my email no longer lets me use the "reply" system.  If I try it simply goes into the outbox but won't send. So I have to create a new email every time.  This may not be a n apple problem and one I need to take up with my server.  But first any thoughts on where the problem is?  Another change is that when I open email I always get a message saying cannot connect to (ntlworld.com - which is my uk server), please enter password.  The password is entered correctly and if I click ok it doesn't go away - if I click ignore then everything works which is just an irritant rather than a problem.
