Q: Safari Web Content and VTDecoderXPCService hogging CPU.

I've searched high and low and still haven't found a good answer to this.

How much CPU should Safari Web Content and VTDecoderXPCService be using?

It seems like they are using too much, and as a result, the fans on my laptop keep firing up as it heats up.

Specs:

2011 MacBook Pro 15"

OSX 10.7.5

2.4 GHz i7

12 GB Ram

SSD

Safari 6.1.6

Safari Web Content CPU usage seems to bounce between ~25% and ~50%, but will spike much higher.

I tried disabling and uninstalling extensions (Evernote, Adblock, Ghostery) and it made no difference.

I tried resetting Safari - no difference.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Flash - no difference.

Any ideas?

Thanks.
