Q: Im trying to migrate info from one mac to my new one. I purchased a transfer cable. (go bridge) and nothing is working. Help!

Im trying to migrate contents of an older iMac desktop to a new one that I just purchased. I tried using the migration software but it was terribly slow and then decided to just quit. I bought a transfer cable (go bridge) and it shows up in the desktop on both computers but I don't know how to transfer anything. Namely my Microsoft for Mac Office Suite. help Please!!!

iMac, OS X Yosemite (10.10.3)

Chris, I did let it run over a weekend and then it decided to stop working. I'm  not sure if it was my old tired mac that caused the issue but now I have a Go Bridge Transfer cable. The software is loaded on both macs but i don't know how to transfer anything. Im a novice. Im probably missing something quite simple but can figure it out.

Thanks in advance for your help!

These instructions should be quite helpful. OS X: Manually migrating data from another Mac - Apple Support

When it comes to applications it is much better to reinstall the than to manually move them. Many apps install other files in addition to just the app itself. Reinstall from the original disks, or re-download them onto the new computer. Anything you got from the Mac App Store, you can download again from the Purchases section for free.
