Q: How do I access iTunes library on wd mycloud from ipad

HI,

 

i bought a 3tb wd mycloud so that I could put my iTunes library on it and access it from my devices.  i have added the iTunes library but can't now see it from iTunes on my iPad.  I can see it through the wd software and play songs, but I was hoping to use iTunes. 

 

Has anyone managed to do this please?

 

I am having lots of challenges with the wd software and wonder if I should have bought it at all. Anyone else had problems?

    iTunes never has run on an iPad; computers only. Do you mean the Music app?  It plays music on the iPad which clearly those files are not.

     

    I believe Home Sharing will serve music to mobile devices on that network but this requires keeping iTunes running on a computer.  The media can be on another drive but it isn't the drive doing the serving.  Maybe the WD software can do that but that is something you will have to research yourself.

    Not possible with the Music app.
