Q: My MacBookAir was stolen from my wife's luggage when she traveled to the Philippines today, June 18, 2015.  Is there any way to block the person who stole my unit from registering it with Apple.  I have the S/N of the unit that was stolen.

Your Mac was registered autmoatically with your Apple ID when it was purchased. That cannot be changed.

You may be able to locate the Mac. Go to:   https://www.icloud.com/#find

** Not a good idea to post your serial number on a public forum. I have asked the Apple moderators to delete that.

Thank you for your quick response.  Unfortunately, I had the Apple Genius in the Glendale Apple Store wipe the MacBook Air clean by reinstalling Mountain Lion OS so that my Apple ID is no longer connected to the unit.  That's why I am asking anyone or may be the Apple Company to block the registration of my unit by the person who stole it from my wife's luggage.  I tried using the link you sent me but the only units shown in the "find" are the current devices I own right now.

    Thank you .

Wiping the computer doesn't separate your Apple ID from the computer. Try calling Apple Customer Relations: 800-275-2773 and ask what to do.

    Hi Eric,

Thanks for your advise.... I called Apple customer service and they told method there is nothing they can do to prevent or block the "new" user of my stolen MacBookAir from registering it with Apple company.

    Thank you again.
