Jun 18, 2015 5:16 AM in response to Erik the Vikingby Michael Black,In settings, under messaging, did you tap on the "send and receive", then tap your AppleID and choose sign out? Or did you just turn messaging off?
signing out of iCloud does not disable iMessaging as iMessaging is an Apple service that is independent of iCloud services (As is FaceTime - three separate services that you use your AppleID for, but independent of each other).

Jun 18, 2015 8:48 AM in response to Michael Blackby Erik the Viking,Thank you for your reply!
On the iPad, I'm forced to have at least one address, and cannor remove any of them. It just states that "Could not be removed." Tapping my AppleID and signing out does what the above did - prompting me to sign in when entering the app, but showing all messages in the background.
Could I sign in, disconnect from the Internet, delete them all, sign out, without risking synking the deletion?

Jun 18, 2015 9:00 AM in response to ckuanby Erik the Viking,I know it isn't, which is a pity. But still, I should be able to remove my messaging accounts and not have that information show when signed out.

Jun 18, 2015 9:17 AM in response to Erik the Vikingby Michael Black,Do you mean with continuity? I have noticed that message deletes do not sync across my iPad and iPhone as each device gets and stores its own copy of each message.
IF you mean sync with the the iMessage server, there is nothing to sync. IMessages are stored in the server only temporarily, long enoug for all your connected devices to get the message. Once a message has been delivered to all the devices registered on your account, they are purged from the server. So if this is your only iMessage device and you delete the messages without backing them up somewhere, they will be permanently gone.
