Jun 18, 2015 2:05 AM in response to Ralph Johns (UK)by fishinkaa,Hi, no, it is just jumping and jumping, not even opening the menu. This is happening from every location I tried. The only think I can do is to force quit .

ApplicationsHi,
If you have not already done so open th Font Book app and make sure AppleGothic is present, Active, not Duplicated and Validates from the File Menu item.
AppleGothic will appear near the bottom of the list in Font Book (it is also all one word).

ApplicationsHi,
Open a Finder window.
Use the Go Menu whilst holding down the ALT key.
Select the Library that then appears in the Menu list.
Navigate to Preferences.
Find the file com.apple.ichat.plist and drag it to the Trash.
Does Messages open now ?

Jun 28, 2015 3:34 AM in response to Ralph Johns (UK)by fishinkaa,Hi,
there is not such a file in my library, but yes, it is working now, I do not know how I did that, but after creating large space (like more than 20 GB) on the hard drive , started working. It is not comfortable though, with my 128 Air Any tips?
Thanks!

Aug 2, 2015 11:29 AM in response to McGregor01by FinalAct4,The first one didn't work, because when I tried to drag the icon off the dock, it immediately went back to the dock, but the steps above did help me.
Thanks,

Jan 8, 2016 11:43 AM in response to Louis Leby Ralph Johns (UK),Hi,
The Apple Discussions are organised into "Communities" based on different factors.
Some are to do with the OS X version, by their commonly used name such as EL Capitan or Mavericks.
Others are by specific applications or by Device such as the iPhone and iPad areas.
You post that you are using EL Capitan (OS X 10.11.x) but has joined a Thread in Mavericks.
If you are getting that error message then you do not have the same problem as most of the people in this Thread had in Mavericks' version of Messages.
We need to see the Log in that error message.
The "report" Button will open a larger window with the details of the fault (and it has a comment bar where you can tell Apple what you were doing at the time).
The Folder in ~/Library/Messages is the Attachments folder (holds files and pics sent in Chats and conversations)
The other three items are the Chat.db items needed to keep track of the history of iMessages and also of Saved Chats.
Saved Chats are in ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.iChat/Data/Library/Messages and then the Archive folder.
In this Messages folder is also an Alias to the Attachments folder which also needs to be linked back to the Folder you said you moved.
Having said that these are not likely to cause an error message like the one you are seeing, which means the individual App crashed. That in turn suggests that there is a deeper issue.
