Q: Bright pixel on macbook retina

Recently i had a problem with my new retina MBR. There are a brighter area, its small(just bigger than the tip of the pencil) but very annoy. After that, i realize this is not  about dead pixel nor stuck pixel. This area still display right color, its extreme brighter on white background and nearly disappear on black or dark background. it must be something wrong with LCD display. i still have apple care, but i  worry that apple will not change my LCD Because i read several toppic that have the same problem with me, they had refused to replace new LCD.

What should i do?

Thanks.

It seems you are referring to light bleed (google images for 'LCD light bleed'). Yours sounds minor, personally I would not worry and try to enjoy the macbook. If it really annoys you too much, you can try speaking to Apple. Even if they agree, the replacement may have a bigger area. In 26 years in the IT field, I've yet to see a 100% bleed free screen. They all have it to varying degrees, it is the nature of how LCDs work.

I searched the LCD light bleed but its not what i said, the "area" in the center of the screen and it's just weirdly brighter than other area, especially in the white background and nearly disappear in dark or black background. And if take a look closer inside i can see there a one or more pixel very bright and the area around this take the effect of those pixel, that why i described this is a "area" . Some people say that because there are some pressure in the back of the Retina scene and maybe this problem is from "user damage" . But i did nothing.

It's tough to determine with just a text description. Posting some screenshots of the effect and/or links to threads of others with the same issue would help to clarify.

Make an appointment at an Apple store genius bar and have the display examined.  There is no software solution to the problem.

    Ciao.

Just a brief follow up, this document may help: About LCD display pixel anomalies for Apple products released in 2010 and later - Apple Support . You originally said it wasn't pixel related, but it very well might be. Most companies deem a certain level of pixel abnormalities within normal tolerance. So they may not repair the screen unless you pay to have it done. As OGELTHORPE mentioned, Apple needs to make the determination.

Thank all of your suggests, i just wait for final conclusion from Apple. And they agreed with my case, there're just something really wrong with my LCD screen. Its not "user damage" problem. The technical supporter who directly examine my case were not sure its problem is from user, so he just take some picture and send data to the apple head quarter to analyze closely, and i just received the result from him.

Now i actually consider to buy a extend apple care package. Its really worthy when you frequently use your MBR for work. And you definitely not worry about that expensive hardware.

    Thanks
