Q: How do I remove an Apple Watch Source from Health App?

I recently got an Apple Watch and encountered some issues.  In trying to troubleshoot the problem one of the steps tried was to reset the watch and pair it with the iPhone as new Apple Watch.  As a result I now have two Apple Watch devices listed in the Sources of the Health application.  The record for the first pairing says "This Apple Watch is no longer paired with this iPhone".  All I seem to be able to do is view this status but I can't find a way to remove the record.  I have tried the right to left swipe to bring up a delete option but that doesn't work.  I have also looked around the Watch app and since that pairing is no longer active there is no way to access it there either.  I then looked at Settings on the iPhone under Privacy > Heath and only apps are listed there not devices.  How do I remove this source?

I had exactly the same issue and I ended up saving the iPhone and then reinstalling the iPhone from the backup I just made.  Ok, it took a while but it cleared everything up and now I have just the one Watch and iPhone as Sources.

Unfortunately I didn't make a backup of my phone just before pairing with the watch.  Sigh ...

I'm having the same problem.  I have two watches listed under Heath app's "Sources" -> "Devices" list.   Both are called "Joshua's Apple Watch."  One reports "Go to the Apple Watch app to change health data settings for this Apple Watch" and the other reports "This Apple Watch is no longer paired with this iPhone."

How do I REMOVE that second one entirely?

    Any solution appreciated!

Same issue here. I had to reset my Apple Watch, and now I see two "Adam's Apple Watch" devices listed in the Health App's sources tab.

I think this is just an aesthetic thing, as it shouldn't cause any issues. It would still be nice to be able to remove it.

I don't think i'll restore my phone just for that though.

Did anyone else find a solution to this?

Same problem. I'd assume there are LOTS of people with this same issue, all just trying to ignore the extra entry, and being annoyed like us.

Same problem here, but since the phone and watch are working I'm not willing to go to the drastic measure of wiping and restoring my phone from a backup.  Apple has opened up a case on this for me and maybe I will get a fix.

Same here, but the problem is probably is due to the fact that your first have to unpair you Apple Watch before erasing all its data. More interesting is the fact that the Activity app is still installed even if you do not have an Apple Watch paired.

well, I guess Apple will come with a fix with a new iOS update

I also have this problem and have been unable to find a solution. For us OCD types, it's irritating to have extra baggage hanging on there.

So, I have an update on this issue.

If you restore from backup when re-pairing your Apple Watch, it will not generate another source in the Health App.

This is helpful if you don't already have a duplicate listed. I haven't figured out a way to remove them. Hopefully they'll add it in iOS 9.

Had I known there was a "backup" and or "restore from backup" option I would've used that..

THe way I unpaired was thru the reg Bluetooth settings option on iOS settings app (not watch settings app)

so where is this backup watch option located at?

ugh stinks I could've prevented this, but I hope we can remove from list asap!

    thx for update Adam

I'm 99% sure the backup is stored somewhere in the Apple Watch app on the iPhone. A backup gets created when the watch is un-paired.

I found some screenshots via the Google that shows the option. It shows up when you pair the watch (it is a button that says restore from backup).

OOuch! I did see that, but since I didnt manually "backup" anything, I chose the other option
