Apr 8, 2015 7:21 AM in response to jmj900sby adamecjackson,I had the same problem for weeks and have just found out there is an iPhone setting for FaceTime as well as on OS X.
Go to Settings, FaceTime and ensure "iPhone Cellular Calls" is enabled on iPhone as well as on mac.
This worked for me.

Apr 8, 2015 5:55 PM in response to adamecjacksonby The Zach,Problem solved for me.
After upgrading to 10.10.3 and logging in, I was prompted for my iCloud password. Of late, I'd enter it, and then get asked about seven more times to enter it. Today though when I entered it the first time, I was them prompted to created an app-specific password for iMessages and FaceTime. I did that, used the new password to login, and then noticed the iPhone Cellular Calls option repaired on both my Mac and iPhone (which I had earlier upgraded to iOS 8.3).

Apr 13, 2015 10:18 PM in response to keltongby dadio9000,This is the only thing that has worked and it made sense. I recently switched from AT&T to Sprint so everything needed to be reactivated. Of course the salesperson didn't have a clue or they would have told me to do so. But it worked like charm. I did it on my iPad Air 2 as well. Thanks for this info!

May 10, 2015 8:27 PM in response to GrumpyPantsby nickodemis,GrumpyPants this worked for me!!! I changed my firewall because I was on a public network and never changed it back. After I unchecked the "block all incoming connections" option, I could finally make calls using the iPhone cellular network on my Mac.
Calls would always come in using the iPhone cellular network but when I tried calling out, using my mac, it would never work. I tried all the other suggestions that others have posted, but nothing worked. But when I did your suggestion I could finally make a call.
I am sooooo happy!! Thank you so much. After trying every option to find nothing working, and then to uncheck this simple firewall option, resulting in everything working, is such a relief!! I am sure others will feel my happiness/relief if this works for them.
Again, Thanks So Much!!

Jun 9, 2015 12:43 PM in response to jmj900sby jeffjank33,For those that are connecting via VPN to work or other, I've found when I run VPN client it does not work. As the IP address/DNS once you turn on VPN confuses the system.
So if anyone is having a problem but consistently runs VPN, see if it works without the VPN connection. This may have been mentioned but I wasn't going to run through all the pages.

On the Mac:
I don't have "iPhone Cellular Calls"
That was my exact problem too - there wasn't a "iPhone Cellular Calls", which is usually between "You can be reached .." and "Start new calls from".
I logged out and back in (using "enable this account") a few times, and eventually it came back. Once it was back, i was able to take calls on my Mac.
Hope this helps someone!

I had the same issue and spent a day searching and troubleshooting this. I finally (hopefully) found the answer for my problem and not sure if it works for all. I checked and recheck the settings and finally when I turn off FaceTime on my iPhone and turn on again, it did a re-activation and I am able to finally call from my MacBook Pro. But not sure if my solution will work for you.

Jul 12, 2015 10:59 PM in response to jmj900sby M.Thomas Peter,I had the same problem though i was on same iCloud account, same wifi network , iPhone cellular calls checked and every thing was set up as per Apple....but a reset of my iPhone 6 plus used to solve this problem for some time. I was fed up resetting my iPhone for n number of times. I started observing every change after my final reset of my iPhone, luckily i could find that changing time on my iphone(Let the time be on auto) is some how preventing out gong calls from my Macbook pro(Mid 2012 Version). So i suggest you guys to keep same time both on your MBP and IPhone. God Bless All. Thank You.

Jul 17, 2015 2:45 PM in response to M.Thomas Peterby angeloman,Thank You Thomas!
I tried every advice posted on this forum, and nothing worked. I could only receive calls on my MBP but not make them from it. I verified the time settings on my iphone 6+ and found it was not set on auto. I changed it to auto and voiIá, it worked like a charm!!

Aug 12, 2015 12:56 PM in response to jmj900sby intentionMan,So many things affecting this feature.
In my case my firewall was blocking it. Took awhile to find that. Now I need to find out how to allow phone calls through the firewall once I turn it back on.

Aug 13, 2015 6:03 AM in response to jmj900sby ppxrf,I also had this problem and found a solution that worked for me - I unplugged my ethernet cable! I actually found that a better solution was to change the Service Order for my network connections - see below for more details:
On my Mac: I went to the Network settings in System Preferences. My computer was set up with both an Ethernet connection and a Wi-Fi connection (with Wi-Fi as the primary and Ethernet as the secondary). Removing my ethernet cable (so that I only had a Wi-Fi connection) fixed the problem. However, this is not a desirable solution, so I plugged the ethernet cable back in and changed the Service Order (click on the little cog system at the bottom of the connection list and select "Set Service Order"). I found that setting Ethernet as my primary connection and Wi-Fi as my secondary connection fixed the problem.
I would love to offer an explanation as to why this worked, but frankly I would have expected the exact opposite to work, if at all. But hopefully this will help someone else...

Aug 22, 2015 3:10 AM in response to Gregorysreidby Mariebabyy,Not sure what happened. But this might have been true for me. When trying to set it up initially and testing it out, it wouldn't connect. I was getting frustrated so I went to the store and came back home. Checked once to make sure that my phone was connected to wifi, put it to sleep, test messaged my boyfriend on iMessage on my iMac and it worked. Then he tried to call me and VIOLA. Magic. Did nothing to my settings. Just decided it wanted to work now.

Sep 8, 2015 6:27 PM in response to jmj900sby Npot,What worked for me was
1. goto mac settings
2. goto security
3. goto firewall
4. goto firewall options
5. UNSELECT “Block all incoming connections
FYI, i have “Automatically allow signed….” unchecked, and “Enable stealth mode” checked
It might ask you to approve connections for some items listed there in the box “Remote Login SSH”
This allowed the mac and iphone to think that were on the same wifi network, which they always were, but i could never call out from the mac using the iphone

Sep 14, 2015 5:48 PM in response to Npotby tivoboy,Well, I have tried everything in this thread and cannot get it to work on my LAN. (apple airport extreme, it's an older model sir but the codes are still valid)
iphone, now running 9.1
rMBP running 10.10.5
apple watch running 1.01
When a call comes in, the watch rings, the rMBP rings and when I try and answer on the computer - it fails. Call dies on the calling party end and the result is call failed.
If I try and make an outbound call with the rMBP it says call failed.
Everything is setup as listed here.
Same icloud account
all facetime settings are set to iphone calls, make receive calls, whatever
bluetooth is enabled (Although it seems that really isn't a requirement now)
all devices on the same wifi network (2.4ghz network since the apple watch can't use the 5ghz network)
Any thoughts? Doesn't it seem odd that a call will ring through to the rMBP but that I can't ACCEPT it?
