Q: How to get around the stupid 100 mb download limit on ipad without wifi

Hi. I have a brand new IPad Air cellular + wifi with 128 gb. I also have an unlimited 3G connectivity. But the stupid 100 mb limit has made my life very difficult. Please suggest some ways to download files larger than 100mb without wifi. I am located in India and I have confirmed from my telecom service provider that there is no maximum limit on downloads.

iPad Air Wi-Fi, Cellular, iOS 7.1

I opened a ticket with apple for the same issue but I didn't follow up with it because it is already known to them and apple also request for some statics from the operators in order to see how well their devices perform

    Haha, problem solved!!!!

1.go to AppStore and click update or instal on an application greater then 100MB, it will tell you that you have to activate FiWi. (Wifi was activeted but not conected to any network)

2.Then the icon of the application on the desktop shows "waiting".

    3. Let the baterry dry out

    4. Plug your Idevice into electric and let it start

    5. That it!!!!!! The application will download and install (Using only celular network)

hope it helps, it worked for me.

One of the most absurd posts I've ever read. If you can't manage your data, besides the fact that most providers will advise you on how much data you used, then you deserve what you get. It's an absolutely ridiculous limitation.

This worked with my iPhone without the need to reboot it.  Although I also used my laptop.

    1. Turn on wifi of the iPhone

    2. Turn on hotspot

    3. Connect the laptop to your iPhone through wifi

    4. Download/Update the app that's over 100MB...this will still prompt you that you will need a wifi to download it, but just click on OK and it should start to download right after

    Hope this helps...

That is simply not for Apple to decide.  In Australia with my phone provider I get more data each month than I could ever use, but the 100MB limit still exists and the provider informs me its not them this is done via Apple.  Funnily enough they gave me a workaround which shows just how stupid this limit is.  They provided me with a "data share" sim for my iPad which now uses the same data as the phone,  then I connect my iPhone via the iPad tethering and no more limit,  yet the data is coming from the exact same place.  Now how dumb and stupid is that?

OK guys so I have an actual solution. No weird computer connections or anything of the sort. Just simply press update in the App Store when prompted about the wifi limitation press ok and close App Store then go to app on main screen it should say waiting click on it once then shut your phone off properly with the power button then slide to shut down. After booting phone back on go back to app on main screen app should still say waiting click on it one more time then it will start downloading . DO NOT OPEN APP STORE until the download is done. And you should be good . Hope this helps .!

The punctuation keys on your keyboard appear to be malfunctioning.

I'll bet the keyboard is perfectly fine. I believe it's the punctuator that's malfunctioning...
