Q: Wifi sync unstable with iTunes 12.1
This seems to be an ongoing battle to keep wifi sync working with an iPad mini2 and iPhone 6. When I plug it into the USB port it syncs and backs up fine. However, as soon as I unplug, the iDevices are not longer recognized in iTunes. I've played with this many times and it works for a while then suddenly stops. Neither device can see my iMac (late 2013).
Can anyone point me to a resource to get this working reliably?
Thanks,
John

Hi JohnZonie,
If you are having issues syncing your iPad mini and iPhone 6 to your iMac, take a look at the troubleshooting steps in the resources below:
Sync your iPhone, iPad and iPod touch with iTunes using Wi-Fi - Apple Support
https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT203075
Set up syncing
- Open iTunes. Make sure that you have the latest version.
- Connect your iOS device to your computer with the included USB cable.
- Locate your iOS device.
- In the Summary tab, select "Sync with this [device] over Wi-Fi."
- When the computer and the iOS device are on the same network, the iOS device will appear in iTunes. Then you can sync it. The iOS device will sync automatically when the following conditions are true:
- The iOS device is charging.
- iTunes is open on the computer.
- The iOS device and the computer are on the same Wi-Fi network.
- When your device is connected with iTunes via Wi-Fi, you can select the device and then configure sync and other options.
- Click Apply or Sync to sync the iOS device.
If the iOS device doesn't appear in the Devices section or you can't sync, try troubleshooting iTunes Wi-Fi syncing.
