Since upgrading to a new macbook, my iCal is immediately deleting any events I schedule, so that I have to enter an event TWICE to get it to "stick." Not cool.

For example: if I put in a work event (red), and hit enter, it reverts to a personal event (purple) and wipes all the information - just shows as a "new event" in purple.  Until I go back into the event a SECOND TIME and make detailed changes to content and color, it's lost forever.

Any suggestions??

MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Late 2013), OS X Mavericks (10.9.5)

We are seeing this same issue as OP on our iMac.  We are using multiple (10) Calendars in the Calendar app.  All are shared to iPhones using iCloud.  The issue only occurs for entries created at the iMac console, not on mobile.

I have this same problem. Sometimes the new event sticks, but usually, I have to enter it twice. What's up with that?

I have the same problem - it's reliably repeatable. I create the event, scroll away, and then come back and the event is back to whatever defaults I had when I created it (that default calendar, day, time). It seems to be triggered by the act of scrolling away and then coming back. I thought it was my wireless mouse, but it happens on the laptop too (using the touchpad).  Please, Apple, fix this! I jump on every OS upgrade in the hopes that this will be fixed. (I keep hoping this must be driving the people at Apple HQ nuts too.)
