Q: Apple watch not pairing

How do Inpair my Apple Watch to my IPhone 6? I'm selecting "start pairing", but the viewfinder is not working and the Apple Watch is not showing in the device list when I try to pair manually.

First, make sure Bluetooth is turned "On" on your iPhone.

Bluetooth is on and working. I successfully unpaired, but now the pairing process doesn't work using the viewfinder or manual method.

Reset the Apple Watch.  Hold the digital crown and side button together for about 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears.

If that does not solve it (it should), then reset your iPhone as well.  Hold its home and on/off buttons for about 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears.

I appreciate you trying to help. I reset both and tried to pair and nothing happens using viewfinder or manual method. My Bluetooth icon is on my phone, the apple watch is showing its not connected, but I can't get them to pair.

If you go to the "Connections" glance on the Apple Watch, does Bluetooth appear "On" there as well?  Is the Apple Watch is Airplane Mode by chance?

OK, the photo is clear, and the Apple Watch glance appears as it should (minus connectivity).

On the iPhone, when you go to Settings > Bluetooth, does the Apple Watch appear?  If so, I assume it's disconnected.  If it does appear, try tapping the "i" in the circle on the right, then "Forget This Device".  Then try resetting the iPhone again.

What an unusual issue you have!

The Apple Watch does not appear in my Bluetooth setting on my IPhone. What's puzzling is that I was able to connect my Bluetooth headphones to my Apple Watch. For some reason the iPhone and Apple Watch cannot connect.

I've never seen such a display under Settings > Bluetooth.  It shows what I'm guessing are your devices' Bluetooth addresses instead of names.  I don't understand how that happens, or why it would ever happen.

I wonder if that's related to your issue.

I ended up resetting my Apple Watch and was then able to pair with my IPhone. Im traveling today and I swear something happened with airplane mode that caused my iPhone and Apple Watch to disconnect. I now know how to reset and that was not too bad of an experience.

sberman - I really appreciate you trying to help. Thank you very much.

"... something happened with Airplane Mode ..."

When you place your iPhone into Airplane Mode, most folks have their Apple Watch set up to Mirror iPhone, so the Apple Watch goes into Airplane Mode as well.  However, in such a case, once you place your iPhone out of Airplane Mode, the Apple Watch is not communicating to the iPhone, so the Apple Watch needs to be independently removed from Airplane Mode.

I had the exact same problem. I ended up having to factory reset the watch. After that there was no problem pairing and setting up.
