Go through these steps and see if you can fix your MBA:

Jun 24, 2015 3:49 AM in response to OGELTHORPEby Paulf88,Thanks for your response, I can't make a back-up anymore because I can't get in my MBA. Lesson for next time...
What I have done / can't do:
- Disconnect, test peripheral devices and network cables: nothing connected
- Perform a safe boot: not working
- Reset NVRAM/PRAM: nothing changes
- Start from Mac OS X install disk: I do not have a (external) diskdrive
- Check your cables and power source: working fine
- Remove third party RAM and internal hardware: N/A
- Perform an archive and install installation of Mac OS X: I do not have a (external) diskdrive
- Last resort: ....
Where is the re-installation via a server (or recovery) in this list? Should I just follow these instructions: OS X: About OS X Recovery - Apple Support

If your MBA is a 2011 or newer, that would be the correct option. If it is 2010 or earlier, you will need the original installation media or duplicates.
Ciao.

Jun 24, 2015 4:09 AM in response to OGELTHORPEby Paulf88,It is mid 2012, so that shouldn't be an issue. I will try it later today and give an update on the situation.
Thanks again.

Jun 25, 2015 3:19 AM in response to OGELTHORPEby Paulf88,No luck....
It is not working, when I select the Drive where to install OS X it does not go to the next screen. It just asks again to select the drive, only now it does not give me an option to select so there is no possibility to proceed.
Oh and I tried to validate/repair the disk too, but this does not result in any issues.

Jun 25, 2015 3:28 AM in response to Paulf88by OGELTHORPE,I sense that the SSD may be faulty.
Last thing to try is to boot the MBA with the OPTION + COMMAND + R keys. The result should be a revolving globe on the display. By following the directions you will be connected to the Apple servers and be able to install the ORIGINAL OSX in your MBA. A solid Internet connection will be required.
If no success, make an appointment at an Apple store genius bar.
Ciao.
