Q: Do I really need to face tag (Photos OS X) my 10k plus photos in both of my desktop and my laptop manually?
I have two computers. A Mac mini and a MacBook.
I started tagging my family photos on my MacBook then I thought: "Wait a minute, this is way too much work if I have to do this again", but then I thought: "No, Apple would never make me do something twice"... I waited for about a day (after tagging the faces on my Laptop) and went to my desktop. To my unfortunate surprise my photos that I spent a while tagging faces were not there....
Really? All that photo tagging does not transfer from computer to computer? I know it doesn't between a computer and an iOS device, but computers????
Sad.... or maybe I'm doing something wrong, hopefully.
Please help! Thanks in advance.
Mac mini (Late 2014), OS X Yosemite (10.10.3), Macbook Retina 2015

Indeed, the face tagging does not sync to iCloud and between Macs. It is one of the exceptions.
See here, what will be synced: Use Photos and iCloud Photo Library on multiple Mac computers - Apple Support
And also: Tag faces in Photos to find people on all your devices - Apple Support
You should be able to search for the faces names on your second mac, since faces keywords do sync. That makes it easier to assign them on a second Mac - Photos will assign many faces automatically, if you just name a few.
