Q: Sound switching between Dolby and LPCM

I have an AppleTV connected to my TV, with sound played through a Sonos Soundbar.

While watching things on AppleTV, periodically, the sound cuts out and appears to switch between Dolby and LPCM modes, and then back again.

In the Apple TV Settings=>Audio & Video=> I've tried switching Dolby Digital from Auto to On, as well as Audio Output from Auto to 16 bit, but the problem persists.

The issue does not ever arise when using other sources (such as DVD, Xbox, DirecTV).

I've also tried resetting the Apple TV.

Any ideas?

Apple TV (3rd generation), iOS 5.1.1

Hey Argelius,

I understand that you are having an issue with your Apple TV connection to your sound system. While you have tried several relevant troubleshooting steps, I would like to recommend that you also try restoring your Apple TV through iTunes:
