Jun 27, 2015 11:10 AM in response to sfoxyby Old Toad,★HelpfulIf you're using both iPhoto and Photos changes made to iPhoto are not reflected in Photos. Their libraries are totally separated. So you'll have to manually duplicate in Photos what you did in iPhoto if you want them to be "identical".
For clarification are these "album" just albums in iPhoto or books? Are the photos in the albums in both libraries or just in the iPhoto library?

Jun 28, 2015 8:22 AM in response to Old Toadby sfoxy,Thank you for your reply. It is what I thought might be the case. So is there any advantage in using Photos and if so having to recreate albums I already have in iPhoto? If not I will use my existing albums in iPhoto and in future create albums in Photos where (I think) I have all my photos stored.

Jun 28, 2015 9:32 AM in response to sfoxyby Old Toad,★HelpfulMoments in Photos are the new Events, i.e. groupings of photos sorted by date taken.
When the iPhoto Library was first migrated to Photos there is a folder created in the sidebar titled iPhoto Events and all migrated iPhoto Events (which are now Moments) are represented by an album in that folder. To open the sidebar if it's not already open use the Option+Command+S key combination. The iPhoto albums are also in the sidebar.
There's a way to simulate events in Photos.
When new photos are imported into the Photos library go to the Last Import smart album, select all the photos and use the File ➙ New Album menu option or use the key combination Command+N. Name it as desired. It will appear just above the iPhoto Events folder where you can drag it into the iPhoto Events folder
When you click on the iPhoto Events folder you'll get a simulated iPhoto Events window.
The downside to the simulation is that the Albums/Events can only be sorted automatically by Title. But they can also be sorted manually, either in the sidebar or in the folder's window at the right.
Ask Apple for more sorting options in Photos via https://www.apple.com/feedback/photos.html.

Jun 28, 2015 10:30 AM in response to sfoxyby Old Toad,It's a new mindset we have to adjust to with Photos. It's not as easy to get around as in iPhoto. Our mantra for Photos is "patience, patience, patience, ....."
