Q: Powermac G4 OS reinstall

Hi,

Ive recently bought a Powermac G4 with OSX 10.2 and wanted to have a clean install so ive put in install disk 1 and its installed OS 9 . I thought that disk 2 was OSX but it wasnt, does anyone know a way to get OSX back?

Ive looked on ebay and amazon but everywhere is really expensive, i don't want to be spending £60/$100 on a disk for a computer that's 15 years old.

Unlikely they still have it in stock, but worth a try:

If you are in the US call Apple Customer Support 1-800-767-2775, provide the Serial Number and specifications of the Mac, and for a reasonable fee, they will supply a replacement set of system discs (if available).

The discs will be for the original version of the OS that was pre-installed when the Mac was manufactured.
