Q: Change Forum Username

I'd like to change my Username as well - right now it's an old email address I no longer have anymore and I'd rather have a more valid username?

I'll report your request - not sure how you got your current one as a username is not to be an email address, so the hosts must have missed that when you set it up.

Why not simply stop using your current Apple ID and create a new one?

I too am a bit confused. I never, until commenting on these forums recently, have been even remotely aware of having a 'username' with the "mynamefrommycity" pattern, and I most certainly NEVER would have selected such a ludicrously unsecure name to begin with, especially if I knew it was going to appear in public online forums! I would very much appreciate the chance to change this. However, I'm really only interested in how my information (name) appears on THESE FORUMS. If changing my username is going to also require me to change/relogin to all my accounts that use my apple id, i'd rather you just delete my posts from these forums and be done with it. I can't understand why apple would think the default setting for how your name appears in these forums should be one lacking in privacy as much as these generic "mynamefrommycity" handles.

I have alerted our gracious Hosts to your post... yours is not the first claim of a username being chosen FOR you, but it is not my experience in testing that it is any more than "suggestions" at that step of registering here.

I would also like to change my username as there is an account security issue involved. I never thought of the issue when I chose the username but I can see now that it was not a good idea.

I'm hoping to have my own sub-catagory.  ASC> Using Apple Support Communities> User name requests> Bob, CCC, Klaus, Ethan, and too many friends too mention. 

I didn't realize, the lightning quick hosts have already changed the user name.
