This is happening to me, even though I don't have the iTunes Music Library enabled. What I see is a broken cloud, and when I hover over it, I get the message "Unable to access your iTunes purchases. Click to retry." What's more, hundreds of my songs that I purchased were suddenly hidden, so I had to go to my account and unhide them. However, there are 58 songs I cannot unhide. I don't store my music locally, and just use the iTunes in the cloud to stream them. So right now, I have zero music in "My Music." Ironically, I can only listen to music with the Apple Music trial...

Every time Apple does something with iTunes my library gets messed up. This is like the 4th time something dumb has happened. I have my music backed up, but since I'm always on WiFi, it's easier not to waste SSD space and just stream the music I purchased. If this isn't solved soon, I'll have to load that music back on my SSD:(

Apple really cannot do web services at all. This is why I don't dare risk my data with iCloud Drive. I happily pay for Dropbox.

It seems pretty obvious that the services is offline right now, at least for some customers (us.)  I was able to access and sometime in the middle of syncing devices it died.  It's been offline ever since.

I really wish they would make use of their status page https://www.apple.com/support/systemstatus/ but it always seems that when I'm experiencing an outage it's not reflected here.

My guess is that they're working on some critical fixes related to the rollout of the service this week and it'll be up by morning.  It has been pretty buggy for me since Apple Music and iCloud library launched, so maybe it's a (hope) fix?

Mine was broken for hours but seems to be working decently now. I even uploaded some of my own beatles tracks from iTunes on my mac and then downloaded them onto my iPhone from the cloud.

However I have been avoiding doing a mass "make available offline" of all the tracks on my iTunes, as the last time it broke it was when I attempted to do that and have just been streaming everything while on the mac.

Is anyone else still experiencing this issue?

Apple Music is working fine on my iPhone, but I can't get it to work on my Mac. Anyone have any news on possible fixes?

It does look to be some form of limit on offline tracks because, indeed, one can add albums and tracks in iTunes 12.2 and be fine until you start downloading things for offline mode.  After about 4 or 5 albums, the dreaded "Unable to connect to your iCloud Music Library" pops up and you can't do anything more.  Note, however, you can still stream stuff from Apple Music.  You just can't download anything else.  Wait 2-3 hours, and you can add more albums/make stuff available offline and so on - until you reach whatever is limiting this silly thing.

No such limit seems to apply to iOS.

It's working fine for me on one of my Macs and my iPhone & iPad, but on my laptop I'm getting the same "Unable to access your iCloud music library."

This started happening after trying to change the checkbox for ~20 items in a row. Wonder if they are being overly aggressive about limiting spamming of actions on the server.

    Same here.

I just talked with someone from apple support: they admit that they have big issues here and promised me to call me back within 24 hours..

Good news!  At the moment it seems to working for me again.

I did nothing except closing itunes for 1 to 2 hours.

I suppose, that it could be a problem if your itunes connect to the server too much.

    Especially now at the launch.

But to be honest - I have no idea..

I do think there's offline download throttling going on at the moment.  Hit a certain threshold, it kicks you off (rather violently without warning).  Shut down for 2 hours, fire it up, it'll work.  We'll see what Apple says.

I am also having this issue and have been since the night of the launch.  It worked initially, but after I found the sheer number of screwed up song matches, I deleted my library and was going to start again.  Once I did that I started to get the connect error and haven't been able to connect again.  The odd thing is I can still upload albums to iCloud, it just doesn't connect to download the data.

I have tried to deleting the iTunes folder, and even spun up a VM with 10.10.4 to see if it was machine specific and no dice.

I am at a loss and really disappointed because I was really looking forward to using it and Apple doesn't even seem to acknowledge this is a problem.

I have this issue as well, just like everyone else, sign in and out over and over and it doesn't work for even a second.

I even signed in on a different mac and it doesn't work. It's definitely a server side issue!

So, I seem to have resolved the issue, at least for now.  Someone either in this thread or elsewhere had mentioned that they completely closed out of iTunes and kept it closed for quite some time.  I closed iTunes for2 hours and when I opened it, it connected without issue.  I hope this works for others.

Wowwww so I WASN'T having this issue yesterday, but all of a sudden I now have the cloud icon with the lightning bolt in it - "Unable to Access Your iCloud Music Library", with my entire apple music library that I built yesterday gone.

    This is such a clusterfuck.
