Jun 30, 2015 6:26 PM in response to happycardby bobseufert,My home screen wasn't rotating after updating even though the rest of my iPad did rotate correctly. A reset did the trick for me.

Jun 30, 2015 6:34 PM in response to happycardby thomasdangit,Try pressing and holding both the home and power buttons at the same time and release once you see the Apple logo start up. This is a hard reset and I hope it takes care of your problem!

Jul 1, 2015 8:51 AM in response to happycardby happycard,I had done the over the air update To 8.4. I Went back to 8.3, but my backup was from Dec 2014. Decided I lost to much data. I did the update back to 8.4 connected to ITunes, I am not seeing the problem. so possibly it's a problem with the over the air update, which was only 187 MB Versus 1 Gb plus full the ITunes update.
FyI - in ITunes you can turn off auto syncing by doing
EDit -> Preferences -> Devices tab
there is a check box mid screen for auto syncing. Uncheck the box, click OK.

Jul 1, 2015 9:36 AM in response to happycardby frank-heidi,I Have the same problem too. No rotation after a few minutes. A restart or hard reset solves it for a few minutes and then again it didn't work.

Jul 1, 2015 3:18 PM in response to happycardby Moriarty91,I can confirm it, too.
I did a clean update from 8.3 to 8.4 (using iTunes not OTA). My Air2 64gb stops rotating at some point and freezes in portrait
Restarting or restting fixes it only for a limited time.
I can continue to use it when it is frozen in portrait view, only rotating to landscape does not work.

Jul 1, 2015 3:47 PM in response to Moriarty91by bobseufert,I had the same problem and a reset cured it. If a reset doesn't work the next step is settings> general> reset> reset all settings. Make sure you know your wifi password. If you have one you'll need it to connect to your wifi.

Jul 1, 2015 11:31 PM in response to happycardby Ychung007,I Have the same problem after iOS 8.4.
Lock screen always rotates. I rotate from lock screen to rotate to landscape.
Annoying issue. Very basic QC issue. Disappointed.

Jul 2, 2015 2:16 AM in response to bobseufertby Moriarty91,Thanks for your advice, but it did not solve the problem for me.
Neither a device-reset (home+power) nor a settings-reset cured it permanently. 8.4 was installed using iTunes, not OTA.
I consider going back to 8.3 as long as Apple still signs it.

Jul 2, 2015 2:16 AM in response to happycardby Danny_B,I' facing the same issue.
Problem occurs on iPad Air 2, iOS 8.4 only at "first" wake up after it was locked for minutes.
On my iPad it can be fixed by just another lock and unlock.
Perhaps it could be related to iOS 8.4 slow wake on iPad Air 2

Jul 2, 2015 3:24 AM in response to Moriarty91by bobseufert,I'd be very careful about trying to downgrade and definately don't recommend it. All I can recommend is everybody with the priblem needs to file a bug report at the link below. Be sure to be specific.

I don't know if they are related. I posted in that discussion about my iPad waking up slowly from sleep, but I do not have any issues with screen rotation.
