Q: Apple Music Radio not working. Get the error message: 'Unable to start station. There was a problem starting the station. Try again later'. Is it only for the US?

Hi Guys. Hope either Apple or the community can provide an answer.

For me:

Apple Music Radio is not fully working. Get the error message: 'Unable to start station. There was a problem starting the station. Try again later'. Is it only for the US?

Beats 1 radio works fine.

But any of the set radio stations e.g. Pop. Hip Hop etc and any I try to create based on an artist receive the error above.

If i set my iTunes account to the US under settings then they work just fine.

So is this a US only feature?

Thanks.

Wow, if this isn't the "fail" of launches. I too can't play any of the stations (except @1, whatever that is)... but here's the thing: absolutely no message, no invitation, no explanation in iTunes telling you why, what to do, what not to do.

And so I have given up. Whatever Apple....

Did you try contacting support or googling the topic to get your answers?

How do you think I arrived here?

But that's not the point. I shouldn't have to Google for 20 minutes to find out how to make Apple Radio work, should I? I still haven't found an answer and, as I said, I've lost interest. Apple Radio appears, for all intents and purposes, to be broken.

Shouldn't take 20 minutes -- maybe google 'how to use google effectively' and brush up first.

20 minutes to go through all the links? Sometimes it takes an hour to solve Apple's problems. I've been using these computers since 1986, so I have a little experience here.

Nonetheless, Radio has no message, no alert, no invitation, no explanation. It just doesn't work. Talk about a failed launch. What is Apple thinking? Perhaps they could post a message: "Dear Apple customer. Please Google for how to figure out how Radio works. Except for MarysPlaceStudio, it should take you less than 20 minutes to find the answer. Good Luck... and thank you!"

Takes some people longer -- something I learned trying to teach my mom how to do her email.  Oh well, maybe you'll have better luck with android?

Maybe. But here I'm talking about the desktop version of iTunes. Apple finally put a message up for the iOS version inviting you to a 3 month trial. But as for the desktop version of iTunes (on my Macbook Pro), there is nothing: when you click a radio channel button, a progress bar appears for 3-4 seconds, disappears, and then a sweet silence fills the room.

I kind of like it this way, which is why after 20 minutes of reading, I'm kind of happy to let it go.

Yes, for me. But not for millions of Apple users. But then, that's not my problem.

Thank you for your incredibly pointless answer!

You should go back to Facebook, they're missing you!

Huh? There is no answer, at least from what I'm reading in this thread. Apple's desktop Radio appears broken, at least here. Clicking on channels does nothing. The user above says that I should spend my time Googling for the answer. I simply replied that Apple has dropped the ball. I really don't see why this should bring out the Apple attack dogs. It's kinda simple.

    Hate Facebook, by the way.

Did you try logging out of Apple Music and back in? That should do it.

Yeah mine wasn't working until I completely logged out of Apple Music on my phone and then logged back in. Once I did that it all worked like a charm. If you're still having issues - try taking it to an apple store. I'm sure they can help you out.

It is the same situation for Germany. The beats one channel works - but none of the other stations - most of the time. if it does´t re log-in.
If you want to check out the others ones, change your apple ID and iTunes account to an US address and select for payment none. they check on the credit card your bank if it is outside US they do not allow the country change. same for paypal. you need to have an US source connected to your paypal....

took me around 15min to figure this, but now i can enjoy the metal channel, which sounds good.

hope this helps for all peeps from germany.
