Q: Logic Pro 10.1.1 crashing when Sharing to iTunes 12.2

Hi all,

Starting today, Logic X 10.1.1 has been crashing when sharing to iTunes 12.2. This did not happen before. Also, other shares and bounces work perfectly, it's just the sharing to iTunes that crashes. The crash is a range exception. It seems like Logic is trying to use a range of 500,000 characters. I can bounce to MP3 and add to iTunes just fine, but the track doesn't go in the playlist I want. Not a huge deal, but sharing would save me a step. Anyone else have this problem?

OS X Yosemite (10.10), null

I can´t find the exported file in iTunes.

    Any suggestions?

    TIA hajot

Look again. Doublecheck that you had checked the checkbox. Sort your songs in iTunes by date added, it should be the first.

I tried the fix with unchecking "non sharing XML ..." in iTunes. LPX doesn´t crash any more, but there is no related file in iTunes. I´ve checked this with date added ...

I prefer this way because I don´t want to have additional tracks oder tracks replaced in my LPX file. I´m searching for a smart way to export a couple of tracks to MainStage ("Playback"). Before 10.10.4 an date new iTunes version it was easy to prove these tracks to iTunes and put it in MainStage with drag and drop ...

Look in the Recently Added playlist.......

But as all you want to do is D&D into Mainstage.. why don't you just bounce the full project to say, the desktop and then D&D into Mainstage?

Well - a little bit strange - I did another test: the same procedure not on my Mac Pro but on my MacBook Pro (both 10.10.4) works. Hu?

All I want to do is to create 4 backing tracks out of my LPX file - Click Track | Bass | Drums | all other tracks. Until now I provided them to iTunes and dnd them into 4 MainStage tracks using "Playback".

    Some suggestions...

Make sure iTunes is already running before you try to share to iTunes...

But again, you don't need to share to iTunes at all.. You are adding an extra step for no reason i can think of....Just bounce the tracks out as Wave files... to the desktop and then add them into Mainstage....

If you really need them in iTunes.... just D&D the wave files onto the iTunes's icon in the dock afterwards..

You´re right - I don´t really need them in iTunes - so thank you for your helpful hints  ;-)))

    Bye - hajot

Thanks for the tips everyone, but why should we have to jump through these hoops? Why can't it just work like it's supposed to.

    1) iTunes/Apple Music was updated....

    2) GarageBand was updated....

    3) Logic Pro X hasn't been updated yet.......

Patience is the name of the game.. and until then, there are several easy to use workarounds...
