You need to learn the basics of how iTunes operates (in particular terminology since "mapping" is not an iTunes term and I have only the slightest idea to what it refers; and syncing is only something done with a mobile device), and you are using a NAS which can be very finicky with iTunes and may result in inexplicable behavior. I hope you have everything backed up regularly.

So, is your library on the NAS portable?
The one thing you can't do is "sync" part of a library to a different computer in terms of adding parts of one library and generating a new, secondary library from it.
