Jul 8, 2015 8:10 AM in response to elliottmannby Niel,You buy the RAM from a source such as OWC or Crucial, and if you're comfortable with installing it yourself(the sites provide instructions), do so.
The maximum RAM for it is 6GB.

You can buy appropriate ram from vendors such as OWC or Crucial and install it yourself. Its very simple in your model of iMac:
