Q: no services available after 10.10.4 and os x server upgrade

I just updated my Mac Pro (Late 2013) to 10.10.4 with server 4.1.3.

Nobody can connect to the file server. As I hunt around I see that it says "Reachable at air.byu.edu, no services available." It looks like none of my network users or groups are showing up at all (and I can't add any). It doesn't ask for directory admin or anything. Dead in the water here. Please help.

Don't know how to attach a file but here's a copy of three logs. Hope they can help. The first two logs keeping looping with the errors. I'm afraid I don't know what they mean.

Your server installation has a lot of problems. As a first attempt to fix it, I suggest the following.

    Back up all data.

Quit the Server application and drag it to the Trash, but don't empty. You'll be prompted to confirm that you want to stop all services. You won't lose any data.

If you're using the server for DNS, temporarily change the primary DNS setting in the Network preference pane to another DNS.

Put the app back where it was and launch it. Test.

Revert the DNS setting, if applicable.

Thanks. Yeah, the server seems to have major problems. We'll give your effort a try. We're also getting ready to rebuild it from scratch. My experience with server over the years is that it does deprecate with time—more and more problems. A fresh start may be what we need.

Moving the App to Trash, rebooting, and moving the app back worked GREAT for me... all services became available.

    Thanks
