Q: 5S wiped out by iOS update

Good morning,

Have other iPhone 5S owners had to buy a brand new phone as a result of this iOS update that causes the phone to be stuck in the connect to iTunes screen? I've tried every solution suggested online, but iTunes will not recognize my phone. Seems like Apple should take responsibility for this. What are my options?

Thanks

iPhone 5s, iOS 8.4

Try restoring in DFU mode. Try restoring using a different computer. Make an appointment at the genius bar and see if they can forcibly reload it for you. Try some troubleshooting before you just chuck it in the bin.

No one has ever HAD to buy a new iPhone because of that error, unless the phone's hardware had failed. The error can always be resolved if it is software, unless the phone was jailbroken. And even then there are forums that can help. Just not Apple's.

Thank you, yes, I've tried different computers, USB cables and USB ports and I've upgraded iTunes to the latest version. My computer recognizes that a USB device is plugged in, but iTunes does nothing. I will try going to the Apple store before getting gouged by ATT for an "upgrade". If I get somewhere, I will post.
