Q: Finding installed security updates on Yosemite

How can I find all the security updates that may or may not be installed on my yosemite OS? Snow leopard had a option to view all installed updates just like Windows is able to perform.

As an example Apple posts a security update

Security Update 2015-005

I should be able to determine if this pathed has been applied to my Yosemite workstation.

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

Try:

Apple Menu > About This Mac > Show System Report

Then in the 'Software' section select 'Installations'. I think that SU 2015-005 is included in Yosemite 10.10.4 so I wouldn't expect it to be listed as installed.

cdhw That takes you to a generic menu displaying all software. the problem is it makes it difficult to determine what O.S. patches have been applied. For example ccan you tell me all Yosemite patches that should be applied?

Your Mac figures out what if any updates should be and have not been applied.

Simply open the App Store and click "Updates" in the upper right.

If you have OSX10.10.4 installed then you have all security updates included in that and none have been released since.

You can sort the list into various convenient orders by clicking the column titles. So, for example, if you want all of Apple's updates together in a list sort by 'Source'. You can also copy and paste the list
