Q: 10.10.4 killed my ability to connect to outgoing SMTP server... how can I revert to 10.10.3?

Shortly after migrating data to a brand new out-of-the-box MacBook, this update to 10.10.4 is now blocking connection to my outgoing SMTP server.

How can I "revert" to 10.10.3?

MacBook, OS X Yosemite (10.10.4), new today

I'm having the same problem, or similar, and it happened as soon as I upgraded to 10.10.4, but it's very strange because it's happening for only one of my mail accounts (fastmail). For that account I'm getting a "Connection Timed Out" error in one email client (Unibox) and in Apple Mail it eventually does get sent but it takes anywhere from 10 seconds to 9 minutes. For the same account, outgoing mail is sent instantly from iOS 8.4. So it definitely seems specific to OS X and the 10.10.4 upgrade.

Well I spent several days extensively testing this problem, in touch with both my email provider and app developer...nobody could figure it out why the problem was limited to only one of my accounts. Yesterday that smtp connection just started working again. Don't have a clue why, but it's not an issue for me anymore.

no need to revert to 10.10.3 just follow the instructions here http://appleinsider.com/articles/15/07/10/how-to-resolve-mail-smtp-errors-in-os- x-10104-and-ios-84

simply fix that worked for me.
