Jan 22, 2015 10:47 AM in response to Chris CAby ksbelle,Chris CA; Why not simply restore from your backup or redownload or reRIP from the CDs?
One...my husband took a couple years putting everything into the main PC and then got rid of the CD's. So, ya reRIPing was not an option for me this morning. At the time of the original post I was not aware that my husband was able to back everything that he had been working on with Movies and CD's. So, now that I know that I will be able to do that.
This is your answer for everyone here. Some people are not as lucky. So I was just sharing what I was able to do.
Even with all this and seeing how long this has been going on...yeah, I still will be going the android route from now on. I should not have to redownload my music every time Apple decides to update. I have been reading were people are loosing pictures on their phones also. Oh, wait we are to pay out the butt for cloud so that you can say "why not just restore from backup". Apple is messing up and sorry, I am still not happy. Ya, my hubby got the task of backing up done, but still have to hassle with putting them back into ITunes. Still have to go to other computer that this also happened with and restore all that music on that one too. So thanks to Apple there are hours lost from my day to restore what I should not have to in the first place!!

Then you don't actually own that music anymore...

Except it's not. However, it is by far the simplest way to recover everything.

Why would you pay Apple for iCloud to backup your music when you can't do that?

Just restore the entire iTunes folder. That is all you need to do.
Nothing difficult about that. It may take a few minutes depending on how large it is but you do not need to do anything else.
yeah, I still will be going the android route from now on
Because android is perfect and nothing about ever fails and everything is always exactly where you want/expect it to be.
Okay.
FYI: Android is for phones and iTunes is for computers.
So you are getting rid of your computers and only using Android phones from now on?
Good luck!

Apr 26, 2015 7:31 AM in response to elvenqueen86by Mr. Can,I just backed up my iPhone to my Mac yesterday. BTW I am using iTunes 12. And, guess what? Today I found out that nearly the half of my iTunes library is gone on my iPhone. The songs got deleted were not based on the date I have bought them, it was absolutely random. At least I remembered that I could download them from iCloud, so I did. I haven't installed the latest IOS update (8.2 I guess). As long as the update wouldn't matter that much because this will still happen if I have updated the IOS too. Hey Apple, give us an answer. What the **** happened and why?.

Apr 27, 2015 3:37 AM in response to Lil Chubsby damber.howard,This happened to me also, basically my entire music library including things I bought was totally deleted. I don't even have a ballpark idea of how to get any of it back. Some of it I can't replace or repurchase. Is it gone forever!?!
What the **** iTunes?
How do you even contact support about this type of thing? its not like they can magically make my music reappear.
