Q: Airport Extreme dropping connection

I have an Airport Extreme as my router and it has been fine but all of the sudden starting today it has been dropping the connection. I have tried restarting it and everything and it still happens. One thing i've notcied is when I open up Airport Utility there will be an orange circle under "internet" and a green one under the router. This happens when the internet drops are occuring.

Edit: After testing further, I found out that it's just where i'm using my computer from as when I am by my router I got a lot better connection then in my room, although this hasn't been a problem at all before today so i'm not really sure what's going on there

MacBook Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9.5), null

What is going on is that you likely have a nearby neighbor that has added or changed the WiFi at his house, and the wireless signal is interfering with your connection. This is a common problem with the explosive growth of home WiFi networks.

You are going to need to either move your router closer to your room or move your computer or mobile device closer to the router.

This Apple support document on Wireless Interference will tell you more about the problem and offer some tips to try to reduce the effects of interference.

If your AirPort Extreme is more than 4-5 years old, the wireless radio does tend to lose broadcast power as the power supply begins to head downhill. If your AirPort is in that age range, try a new AirPort to see if works better.  Buy from Apple and you have 14 days to return the product for credit or a refund if you find that new router does not solve your issue.
