Can I perform an upgrade install from a 32-bit version of Windows to a 64-bit version of Windows?
It's not possible to upgrade a 32-bit version of Windows to a 64-bit version of Windows. Back up your important files, then perform a new install of the 64-bit version of Windows.

Jul 11, 2015 1:26 AM in response to Loner Tby Happy user :),Ok, thanks. I mean, can i do it in Windows, not using mac? Mac OS protects its files from any actions that can be made using Windows, I guess, this protection doesn't let me to install x64. Can I switch it off somehow?

You can not upgrade 32 bit Windows to 64 bit Windows on a PC. There is no upgrade path in Windows from 32 to 64 bit. Check with Microsoft sites. To install 64 bit Windows you have to remove 32 bit Windows first then do a clean install of 64 bit Windows.

Jul 12, 2015 2:08 AM in response to BobTheFishermanby Happy user :),I also used to think like that. But guys there successfully install Win 7, and according to the comments it is not a fake. I succeeded to reproduce al the steps till pressing "Install" button. Then I got the error. DVD ROM on my Macbook isn't functional anymore, it rejects licensed Windows 7 (I've tried several DVDs of both licensed and pirate versions). Using flash drive isn't reliable too. If I delete Windows 7, BootCamp may not detect the installing package on the flash.

Jul 12, 2015 8:25 PM in response to Happy user :)by Loner T,Do you have another Mac on which you can test the steps from the Youtube video? If it has a built-in optical drive, please ensure that it is functional. You can always install a new copy of 64-bit and let the installer save your 32-bit installation as Windows.old .

Jul 13, 2015 3:05 AM in response to Loner Tby Happy user :),Unfortunately, I am traveling most of the time and don't have another Mac. The guys from YouTube video use a virtual image, not a DVD. The problem is I installed my current Windows version via DVD-ROM. However, my DVD-ROM seems to be non-functional now - it rejects all DVDs and CDs as well. I guess, I need to switch on full write access for Windows, which is limited by BootCamp, but I don't know how.
