It not a trivial task to transition thousand's of photos & their metadata to another program. Besides its still required for Photos at some point in time. Photos is nowhere close to the capabilities of Aperture & you don't know where to the feature set for Photos is going & how long it will take. Frankly I distrust Apple's track record of "professional" software because at any time Apple will pull the plug & leave you hanging. If they are planing on feature replacement from Aperture to Photos, at least provide a timeline/road map.
