Q: Is this normal?

Hi,

Whenever my MacBook pro 13" 2015 has closed itself down after inactivity (or I have closed the lid) and I have left it for several hours, when I return to it it takes about 30-40 seconds to do anything. And I do mean anything - no buttons work (including the power button), no backlight on keyboard, no chime, no status bar - just a black screen for about 30-40 seconds then all of a sudden the status bar will appear and it will boot as normal to the password screen.

Is this normal? Do all MacBooks do this?

Hi,

Thanks for responding. I read that link many times prior to posting but it doesn't tell me if what my Macbook is doing is normal.

Should I see a status bar while the MacBook comes out of standby? A Cursor? Lit Apple Logo? A Chime?

Because none of this happens. The machine behaves as if it is dead, I get no response from pushing any keys, but then about 30-40 seconds after pushing a button, the status bar appears.
