Q: command   r is not giving me the option of recovery hd

I have a macbook pro os x yosemite 10.10.3

my computer will no longer open my iphoto or the app store or any other applications for that matter. I have wi-fi at home but it wont connet to the internet either.

I already backed-up all of my data and I am reading to reset my computer. I have been desperately trying to reset it by pressing the option key after the turn on sound, I also tried commad + r , option+r and command +option +r and none of them work. When I press the option key: I only get the macintosh HD option and no recovery option. When I press anything else: I get the forbidden sign and then the computer just starts itself as normal and it brings me to the sign in screen. I also DONT have any of the CDs that came with my mac! PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If your MBP came with installation CD's, this leaves you with essentially two choices.

Contact Apple Customer Service for duplicates.  They will need the serial number of your MBP which is on the bottom.  There will be a fee.

Make an appointment at an Apple store genius bar and have them install an operating OSX.  There will be no charge.

    Ciao.

How did you backup? Is the backup bootable? Do the apps work in the backup if you can boot from it?

Connect the backup (assuming it is a fully bootable clone) and then try holding alt (a.k.a. option) at startup to select it.

Keyboard shortcuts need to be pressed early, so don't wait for the startup chime.

If you can get the App store working you can download the installer & try writing it to a USB stick. That will allow you to erase & install again. Do you have access to any other Macs? You can use them to download a OS installer from the store with your Apple ID.

Create a bootable installer for OS X Mavericks or Yosemite - Apple Support

Check what model of Mac you have, some models can use Internet recovery (cmd+alt+r at startup), sometimes it takes a few attempts.
Computers that can be upgraded to use OS X Internet Recovery - Apple Support

As OGLETHORPE said, another option is to visit an Apple store, they may download OS X for you & write it to a USB stick or install it for you.
