Q: Photos App no longer sees my iPhone as import source

Image Capture can see the photos on my iPhone 5S running iOS 8.4 (12H143). The Photos App does not see the phone and will not show the Import selection. How do I fix the Photos App so I can import photos from my iPhone?

iPhone 5, iOS 8.4

Connect the phone and launch Photos - does it show in the sidebar? If so select it and click the box in the upper left to open Photos when this device is connected.  and while it is connected you can import form ti

I had this issue too and contacted support in the end.  I know it sounds crazy but they got me to eject my phone, take another photo and then reconnect.  Somehow taking a new image seemed to have forced Photos to "look again" at the camera roll of the connected iPhone and importing started working again.  Worth a try!

Thank you for the reply. I tried that already without luck.

Well, I took some photos yesterday and now my iPhone is visible to the Photos App. So, I assume your idea of taking a photo and reconnecting solved my issue. Thanks!
