Q: I want to transfer the contents of my iPhone 6 to a brand new iPad Air 2 using iTunes. How do I do that

I recently purchased an iPad Air 2. I would like to transfer data ( apps, contacts, music and calandar) from my iPhone 6 To the new iPad using iTunes. Is that possible?  If so, how in layman terms, can I do it.

iPhone 5, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)

Go back to the article you asked this question from and follow the instructions in the 'Use iTunes' section. If you have difficulty doing so, post back with more details.

Hello 3GS will not turn on,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

    • Back up your iPhone 6 with iTunes by connecting it to the Mac/PC via USB, launching iTunes, then right-click on the iPhone in the iTunes sidebar and choose Back Up
    • Wait for the backup to finish, then disconnect the iPhone 6 from the computer
    • Now turn on the iPad Air 2, and at the “Set Up iPad Air 2” screen, select “Restore from iTunes Backup”, tap Next, then connect the iPad Air 2 to the computer
    • Select the most recent backup you just made from the restore menu in iTunes, then click “Continue”.
    • Wait, and when the transfer is finished the iPad Air 2 will reboot itself and everything from the iPhone 6 will be on the new one and ready to go

    Best of luck,

    Zack
