Q: PowerMac G5 PRAM/ Open Firmware Reset Trouble

Hi, I have a PowerMac G5 DP 2.0 Ghz PCI-X and I could really use someones advice on this.

I recently bought this powermac off eBay and once it arrived I put in My Tiger DVD to realize it has an OF password . I then did some research to find out older macs could reset there OF password by resetting there PRAM three times in a row. Everytime I do the reset the powermac has a black screen and the fans slowly rev up to full and I have to manually shut it off.

I did the PRAM/OF pasword reset as so:

1. Unplug and take out/add a pair of DIMMs

2. Plug back in and turn on and hold OPT+COMM+P+R

3. It does its black screen/ fan rev up thing

I have no idea what is going on, I know I'm doing the reset correctly since if I don't remove a DIMM pair it just tries to boot up as normal. Any ideas?
