Q: maps sends location via messages without prompting
I'm having a recurring issue and while it's not a huge deal it's kind of bothersome not knowing why. One of the phones on our family plan will occasionally send a location image with a pinpoint when sending a text message. The maps app is not open nor is any other navigating app. The phone in question is an iPhone5 running iOS8.3 if that helps.
Like I said it's not a huge deal but we're at a loss as to why it's happening. Of course part of the concern is some spyware that might be on the phone but that seems unlikely.
Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hello MrMarco,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
I looks like that user is sending their location from Messages (from the message window, click Details for the option). This is enabled in Location Services, the following article explains it more in depth, including how to turn this off for individual apps or for all apps.
