Q: printing screen shots

To whom it may concern, I will do command shift number 3 i will hear the click of the camera.But when i go to paste it never works can anyone tell me why?This is on my mac book pro may God bless Trish

    https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201361

    When the screenshot is saved to the clipboard, right click on the spot where you want the screenshot to appear

    and select “Paste”.
