Q: Can I shut off Photo auto import?

I use Adobe LR5 for  import, management, and, of course, processing. "Photo" insists on opening when it detects a photo  card. Is there a way stop this aside from deleting "Photo" from my applications?   BTW, I am on "El Capitan" (beta).

This is not the place for Beta questions - Beta software is under a NDA

For Photo 1.0.1 the latest released version you connect the memory card and let Photos open then in the upper left uncheck the box that says open Photos when this device is connected

Change your settings re what app is to open when the card is inserted. The easiest way is to do it from within the Image Capture app in your Utilities folder.

The "answered my question" and "solved" links don't work, but I did use the image capture app successfully to stop "photo" from opening.
