Q: EFI firmware update won't install (HT201518) on Yosemite

Per About the security content of Mac EFI Security Update 2015-001 - Apple Support

I can't install b/c it complains that I'm on 10.10.4 so it exits w/o proceeding. 

So how then do I install the EFI/SMC firmware update?

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Yosemite (10.10)

A:

It's only availble for use in 10.8.5 or 10.9.5. You don't require it if your are running Yosemite.
