Q: How to get airplay on iPad 2?

I have a new MacBook Pro that is airplay enabled. Airplay is not on my iPad 2 anywhere to be found. I have tried everything that is suggested. I go to the app store to look for airplay, and all I get is a link to more information about it. My software on my iPad 2 is the latest, iOS 8.4. So why can't I enable airplay on my iPad or do anything with airplay on my iPad?

Thanks for the help

TThe AirPlay button is accessible via the Control Panel (slide up from the bottom of the screen). It is also visible superimposed on whatever video that you're playing on the iPad.

Your device needs to be connected to an AirPlay capable device (Apple TV) to use AirPlay. If you are not connected, the feature will not be available under Control Center.

Use AirPlay to wirelessly stream content from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

    From the above link:

To use AirPlay, you need one of these devices:

    • iPhone 4 or later; 4s or later for AirPlay Mirroring
    • iPad or iPad mini; iPad 2 or later for AirPlay Mirroring
    • iPod touch (4th generation or later); iPod touch (5th generation or later) for AirPlay Mirroring

You can stream content to these devices:

    • For photos and videos: Apple TV (2nd or 3rd generation)
    • For music: Apple TV, AirPort Express, or AirPlay-enabled speakers

If you want to stream iTunes Store content, you also need an Internet connection.
