Q: iPhoto won't create photo streams in iCloud

I'm trying to back up all my photos by sharing each album as an individual photo stream in iCloud. I do it by open an album in iPhoto, select all, share to iCloud as a new photo stream. It creates empty photo streams in my iCloud, but won't fill them all. Some streams (1 out of 5) are uploaded, some only partially. Why is this? It does not continue uploading even if I try it multiple times.

I'm running Yosemite 10.10.2 with iPhoto 9.6.1

MacBook Air, OS X Yosemite (10.10.2)

Perhaps you are trying too often?  There are limits to the amount of photos that can be shared to shared albums within a a given amount of time, see this link for hourly or daily limits:  https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202299

The shared albums are not a full backup, because the photos will will be reduced in pixel size,  Do you have a second backup in full quality  as well?

. When shared, photos taken with standard point-and-shoot cameras, SLR cameras, or iOS devices will have up to 2048 pixels on the long edge. Panoramic photos can be up to 5400 pixels wide.
