No, you're not getting a high dose of "radiation". The Apple Watch does not emit ionizing radiation.
You may have an allergy to a component in the watch. Nickel is a common culprit in allergies to jewelry. Some people have also reported that the convex back of the watch presses against a nerve in their wrist.

Burning sensation at the contact area with some redness in skin.
Sadly, I might have to sell off my Apple watch.
